The Fourth Sunday of Advent occurs in the morning on December 23rd with our usual Worship Service at 8:30 AM at St. Francis in Youngsville and our 10:30 AM Worship Service at Trinity in Warren.  Following both services greening of the churches will happen.

Advent Study

The Becoming Beloved Community Advent Study is an outgrowth of the Episcopal Church’s call to boldly address racial healing, reconciliation, and justice. Over three weeks participants will get to discuss different aspects of racial and cultural injustice that continue to keep us from realizing the vision of Jesus for us his church. This is an invitation to consider our unique perspectives in our local community and the stories of our personal lives, all built on the hope of what our baptismal covenant calls us: to be congregations of love, liberation, and hope.  We will meet on Wednesday night at 7 for the next three weeks. See Father Matthew for more information.

Fr. Matthew on Sabbatical

From September 16th to November 13th, our Vicar, the Rev. Matthew R. Scott, will be away on sabbatical. Read his letter to the congregations here. Picking up the pastoral leadership will be the Rev. Timothy Dyer, who has been serving as our Associate Vicar these past three years under Fr. Matthew’s leadership. While we will miss him, we pray for his growth in ministry and look forward to sharing all that God does with us while he is away.

Confirmation Class

Confirmation/Reception Class

On November 11 the Bishop will be visiting the Episcopal Mission of Warren County, in particular St. Francis, our Youngsville location. This is a great opportunity for anyone over 16 years of age who was baptized as a child to be confirmed into the Episcopal Church, or anyone who was baptized in another tradition but has recently decided to make the Episcopal Mission of Warren County their place of worship to be received into the Episcopal Church. This is also an excellent opportunity for anyone who wishes to explore the Baptismal Covenant, which is the foundation of our faith.
In preparation for the Bishop’s visit, a Confirmation/Reception Class will be held on Sundays at 2pm beginning on September 30 through Sunday November 4. This class will focus on praying the Daily Office and exploring our Baptismal Covenant and how we live that covenant out in our daily lives.
Click here for more information concerning Confirmation/Reception found on our website.  If you are interested in being confirmed or received into the Episcopal Church, or in attending the class, please sign up on the sheet in the entryway or speak to Fr. Tim.

Backpack

Blessing of Backpacks and Work Items

Sunday, September 2nd our worship will feature a time to pronounce God’s blessings upon the people of God and the things they use in their callings of life.  Students of all ages should bring a backpack for their school things.  Workers should bring an item that they use at work (and creativity is always appreciated).  Retirees should bring something that they use in their lives as part of living out their callings, too (even bridge cards have had God’s blessing go with them to their sacred tables).  Don’t miss this chance for us to recognize and welcome God’s place in our daily life and work.

Acolytes

Acolyte Training, September 2nd and 16th

Acolyte training will follow the 10:30 AM worship in Warren and be followed by lunch and then YAC fun (see article above.) We schedule youth acolytes as a group every other week. We ask that all youth between sixth grade and their 16th birthday participate in acolyting as they continue their growth in Christian life. They are invited to then explore other ministry opportunities on the non-acolyte Sundays.
